C#/.Net Investment Systems Developer with in-depth experience with fixed income and credit markets for a Boston based investment management firm (hedge fund).

Reports to:  Chief Technology Officer

Location: Boston

 

Experience:

Ideal candidate has 5 years of experience implementing and maintaining data driven applications and databases. Candidate should also have:

 

  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing data bases using Microsoft SQL server.
  • Strong knowledge of the investment management industry, data, participants and work flow.  Candidate should have experience with a variety of asset types (equities, fixed income, FX, structured credit), but in-depth experience with fixed income and credit markets is a must.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management showing the ability to collaborate with multiple constituencies.  The candidate must also have proven investment related business analysis skills.  Significant experience with the software development process, including change management, testing and controls is also a requirement.
  • Significant experience with development of object oriented software applications on the Windows platform. In particular, a track record of delivery of tools to support investment professional.  Solutions with Excel as the front end are a plus.
  • Ability to work from prototypes of complex systems, to understand the issues that are involved in making such systems work and then translate these concepts into working production data bases and applications .
  • Developed substantial applications using C#/.net  

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will sit among the traders and portfolio managers to develop data driven applications for investment research, automated analysis packages, and portfolio analysis applications.
  • Work with investment team to understand and document their research workflow, identify opportunities to automate their work and translate that understanding into fully implemented and tested solutions.
  • Collaborate with other IT staff to create infrastructure and data bases that can be leveraged across the organization.
  • Support the advanced use of SQL databases to analyze and present data.

 

Education: 

BA or BS and significant course work in computer science and statistics preferred.
